Grieving Santos admits he’s not ready yet as SMB falls to Ginebra
Arwind Santos is a man of words, and not just mere adjectives and verbs but of the literary kind.
But on Sunday, Santos wasn’t in his usual poetic self. He was dejected and still in grief after the passing of his mother.
“Wala pa, hindi pa ako ready,” admitted Santos, whose return to San Miguel’s lineup was met with a rude welcome — a 110-84 beatdown at the hands of Barangay Ginebra at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Arwind’s mother, Araceli, passed away late last month and the former MVP is still at a loss and it showed in the game.
Santos tried to give whatever he could to help and his measly six points and three rebounds clearly weren’t enough.
“Sinubukan ko makatulong, lahat kami isa na ako hindi satisfied,” Santos said. “May chance pa kaming bumawi sa Tuesday.”
