PBA Season 42 Preview: TNT KaTropa
Even with the entry of a new coach this season, there won’t be a major change for TNT.
Incoming coach Nash Racela is hoping to bring his championship experience in the amateur level while still maintaining the tested system observed with the KaTropa.
“There won’t be any changes in our offense cause it’s still the same system,” said assistant coach Bong Ravena. “There will just be minor changes, with us focusing more on defense. We want to give importance to that.”
Leaning behind Jayson Castro and Ranidel de Ocampo once again, TNT hopes to recapture its winning form this upcoming 2017 Philippine Cup.
But what would help the KaTropa return to the championship picture will be their supporting cast, led by Troy Rosario.
“He knows what he has to improve on. We want him to be more natured for us this year,” Ravena said.
Rookie Roger Pogoy also joins the crew that already has Mo Tautuaa, Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, and veterans Ryan Reyes and Kelly Williams.
TNT is banking that those slight tinkering will be enough for the team to regain its footing among the league’s top contenders.
